Word on the street is there’s a big game today. Fun fact for you all… I literally can’t even tell you who is playing. I don’t know who will be playing the halftime show. Will and I couldn’t care less about sports in general. Baseball is the only sport I even understand. We have some bridal portraits this afternoon, so that feels like a good excuse not to even turn the TV on for the game. So there you go. Now you know.

Let’s throw it back to the height of our fall season when we met up with Caitlyn and Trace on an overcast afternoon to capture their engagement photos. Caitlyn grew up on a farm and we were thrilled to see some of her favorite spots across the property. I know I’m blogging Caitlyn and Trace’s wedding experience with us all out of order, but I hope you’ll enjoy a glimpse into their engagement session!

New Year’s goals. One of mine was to blog more. I’m obviously off to a bad start. And the other was to write less, share more photos. Well I can already tell you that’s going to be hard to do. When we have clients as amazing as Caitlyn, we want the world to know just how blessed we feel. Caitlyn had a perfect day back in October for her bridal session. We love that she chose to do these at Tryon Palace.

So tonight, I’m going to let the photos from Caitlyn and Trace’s wedding speak for themselves. But I’ll leave you with the words that will always come to mind when I think of their big day - color, love, joy, happiness, people (lots of them!), and elegance. Caitlyn and Trace, thank you for trusting us with your big day. You were the bright light that our January needed!

Guys, it’s already the middle of January! How did that happen? I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. I don’t love the uncertainty of January weather, but it gives us beautiful sunsets. And every day that goes by brings us a day closer to my favorite time of year - spring/summer. But the older I get the more I’m learning not to wish my life away. To soak up every day as it comes. To find the beauty, even in these long sometimes miserably cold January days.

Ya’ll, 2023 has started with a bang! We’ve got the next two weekends off from weddings, but without a doubt, I’ll spend these next few weeks swooning over Peri and Adam’s photos and video. Will and I always look forward to slowing down during the winter months, but really weddings like Peri and Adam’s leave us wishing we could fill every weekend with days like theirs.

Friends, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to stay a little more on top of blogging. Seeing as this is only the fourth post I’ve made so far, I’ve not made good progress on that goal so far. But it’s never too late to become more organized and share some goodness with the world. Today, I’m so excited to share with all of you Peri’s bridal session. After stressing the weather the entire week before (thanks to an October hurricane coming through), we had the most beautiful day at Yankee Hall for Peri’s session.

Friends, happy new year! Can you believe 2023 is here? I know it sounds completely cliche, but with each year that passes, they seem to pass more and more quickly. We had the absolute best 2022 wedding season. We can’t believe how extraordinarily blessed we were to ring in the new year with the most amazing couple, Felicity and John, with the most amazing vendor team. SUCH an awesome day!
