Ya’ll, let’s talk about Saturday. Will and I had the incredible opportunity to celebrate with Sandy and Roberto as they marked an amazing milestone in their marriage… 30 years together. What better way to celebrate than to throw a party for their friends and family. Week after week, I get an outsider’s view of the beauty of weddings.

It’s only Tuesday, but we’re going to pretend it’s Thursday so we can fit in a throwback. Ya’ll, Mary and Josh’s wedding day was a highlight of our 2021 fall season. I could write for days about how beautiful everything was, how perfect the weather was, how loving and fun all of their guests were… But their first look was EVERYTHING.

“So nice, we did it twice.” I will always hear this line in my head when I think of Courtney and Zenik. Throughout 2020 and 2021 we had a handful of couples that we took part in not one, but two wedding celebrations - a smaller, more intimate 2020 celebration, followed by a bigger, more lively affair in 2021.

Happppppy Sunday, ya’ll! What a gross day here in eastern NC. But for this girl who loathes cold weather, I’m rejoicing in the fact that we didn’t have much by way of snow and ice to deal with today. I’m also refusing to acknowledge the fact that the Weather Channel is trying to tell me that we stand a decent chance of snow at the end of this week.

Did you guys know we offer mini sessions for engagement photos? It’s not something that we have always imagined offering, but with each passing year we are seeing less and less engagement sessions. They are still one of our favorite sessions, but we know our couples lead busy lives, and often can’t schedule a whole day centered around the engagement session.

Last year I was inspired to take a walk down memory lane and put together a post of my 20 favorite experiences in 2020. You can see that post here. Well last year I honestly had so much fun going through photos and putting together my list that I’ve known for the last several months that I wanted to do another recap.

Ya’ll, our friend Lexi is up on the blog tonight! We’re so excited that she is officially Mrs. Chad Hardison and we can finally share her bridal session with the world. As you scroll through these portraits, keep in mind that these photos only tell half the story. It’s so easy to see how beautiful Lexi is and I bet you can even tell from her smile just how joyful she is.

Ya’ll, I have a confession… I saw no less than 5 posts yesterday with the caption “feeling 22.” And I thought “Wow, that’s odd that so many folks are that into Taylor Swift to describe their new year’s celebrations with her song lyrics.” We were driving home from yesterday’s wedding before it hit me they weren’t just quoting a Taylor Swift song, but it was a reference to 2022!
