Katie has been Mrs. Reaves for several weeks now, so it’s high time that I share with the world some of the goodness that was her bridal session. Katie chose Rose Hill Plantation for her session. If you’ve never been to Rose Hill, it’s simply magical driving onto the property. Every direction you turn is photogenic.

Ya’ll… I’m already in denial that it is mid-August. I love fall weddings; I really do. But to be honest, I’m incredibly sad to see summer go and all of the amazing weddings that have filled our summer days. Kayla and Tyler’s wedding day was certainly a highlight of our summer.

Will and I are showing at the Forever Bridal Wedding Show this weekend and then we’ll have one Saturday off between now and Christmas. I’m feeling a weird mix of excitement, anxiousness (ALL THAT EDITING), and pure joy that we are so blessed to be a part of so many weddings.

You guys… Let’s talk about August for a second. We all know it’s hot and humid and there’s almost a daily risk of afternoon thunderstorms. But there is something that we often forget… August has the potential to give us BEAUTIFUL light.

You guys, July 27th has come and gone which means that Kayla is officially MRS. Tyler Boykin. We are so excited for this adorable, happy couple as they begin the most rewarding journey of their lives - marriage. Now that they are married, I am so excited to share with the world Kayla’s bridal session.

First of all, I cannot believe we shot our last wedding of July yesterday. Second of all, it was AMAZING! Imagine the sweetest school teacher ever and pair her with the type of guy you would want your daughter to marry, and you have Kayla and Tyler.

For the first time this year, Will and I were able to experience a wedding day while only capturing the video. We love the hustle and bustle of capturing both photos and video at the same time, but sometimes it’s nice to only have one responsibility. Seeing a wedding day unfold without being the ones to direct the day as a photographer does is a special kind of gift. And we loved being able to see the wedding day through a different set of eyes at Tori and Drew’s wedding.

Waiting in DIA for our flight home yesterday, a laptop screen caught our eye. It was the very familiar sight of a Lightroom catalog full of wedding photos. We immediately said hello and made small talk - surely interrupting her progress.
