2021 Year in Review - The Greenes Photo and Films - Eastern NC Photographers + Videographers

HAPPPPY New Year, ya’ll! WHAT. A. YEAR. Seriously guys, 2021 was one for the books.

In 2021…

We shot 57 weddings. FIFTY-SEVEN. 5-7. Oh. My. Lanta.

We captured 52 wedding videos (14 where we worked solely as the videography team, and 38 where we also captured the photos).

We photographed 43 weddings.

We photographed 25 engagement sessions.

We photographed 20 bridal sessions.

We captured 33 weddings at venues that were new to us (including churches and private properties). We often have clients that are hesitant to hire us if we have not shot at their venue. While we completely understand the hesitation, we love the excitement that comes with exploring a new-to-us venue. We are so grateful that 2021 gave us 33 new venues to add to our list.

We worked with 14 different, amazing photographers on the days that we covered only video footage for our couples. There’s no way I could even begin to count the amazing coordinators, DJs, florists, officiants, bridal boutiques, hair stylists, make-up artists, venue owner/managers, stationers, caterers, transportation providers, bakers, and rental companies that we have worked with throughout 2021. You all have worked so hard to create a magical experience for our couples!

And there’s no way I could write this post without giving a shout-out to all of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and parents that have put up with our shenanigans. In the past year we’ve had folks out in the rain, heat, wind, and cold taking photos and we’ve heard next to no complaints throughout the year. We see and appreciate the sacrifices you all take to make the day the best it can be for the bride and groom.

This year, we had lots of “firsts.” In addition to working at 33 new-to-us wedding venues, we had many first-time experiences. Our very first wedding of 2021 brought us our first rapping DJ. January also brought us our first bridal session in the snow. Granted, it wasn’t actively snowing, but the days-old snow was still beautiful. I love magic, and I was thrilled that we saw our first magician at a wedding in 2021. We shot our first ever wedding ON a mountaintop. Not once but twice this year we had bridesmaids that are up and coming country artists. Oh yeah, and that magician… he had a speaking part in Clueless!

8 weddings were couples that originally planned to be wed in 2020, but the universe had other plans. 2 weddings were bigger celebrations after small, intimate 2020 ceremonies. We are hopeful that we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as far as weddings that are being affected by the pandemic.

5 of our weddings captured a bride or groom whose sibling’s wedding we captured in the past. It was soooo much fun catching up with those families.

Seriously, ya’ll…. what a year! Our hearts are full. We’re bursting with joy. And it’s because of the fifty-seven couples that trusted us enough to capture their wedding day. We know choosing vendors isn’t an easy task, but we appreciate each and every one of you that put your faith in us. Each of you has a special place in our hearts!

As we move into 2022, we already have 51 weddings on our calendar. We’ve already had the opportunity to capture engagement sessions for many of those couples and we are THRILLED that we’ve got so many easy to work with, laid-back couples coming up. To be honest, we haven’t had time to sit down and talk about our business goals for 2022, but I do know that our number one priority will always be treat our couples the absolute best that we can while capturing their memories. So as we say goodbye to 2021, we look forward to watching our business grow even more in 2022!
