Consultations
Prior to booking with us, we typically like to have a phone call or zoom meeting to talk about details of the day and address any of the questions that you may have.
While this likely won’t cover every question you have, we wanted to create a page that goes over what is typically covered in a consultation with us.
Initial Questionnaire
Along with this page, you should have also received a link to our initial-questionnaire. This form gives us the opportunity to ask our most pertinent questions about your wedding plans: guest count, wedding party size, and if you are considering having a first look prior to the ceremony
We want to be certain we are the right fit for your wedding and there are certain aspects we consider before accepting a wedding. If your guest list is too large for a particular venue, we will have an extremely hard time performing our jobs. Likewise, we’d struggle to give you your money’s worth of images if you planned a sunset ceremony without doing a first look.
Your questions
We typically start our consultations with a chance for you to ask your questions. We know this process is new for you, so you may not even know what to ask, and that is totally okay! These are a few questions that we are typically asked.
-
This can vary from wedding to wedding, but we have seen anywhere from 700 to 1200 photos returned from traditional weddings. Factors from family size to how active the dance floor is can affect this number.
-
We have been shooting weddings since 2011 and have only ever missed one wedding (COVID) - we alerted the couple as soon as we found out and returned what they had paid us. We then reached out to all of the photographers and videographers we knew (which is a lot) and found a number who were available and the couple chose from that list and settled up with them separately.
All of that said, we know how important this day is to you, and we are going to do all that is within our power to be there!
-
We made an entire page just to explain this
-
Absolutely!!
Lauren & Charlie chose the Photo & Video Package and added on Video Extras.

(If you have an engagement or bridal session with us they will be in separate galleries until after the wedding. Then we will move those photos into your wedding gallery so that everything is in one place.)
The Booking Process
We try to keep our booking process as straightforward as possible. The initial questionnaire creates a file for you in our system, and we build your contract off of that. We send the main contract to whoever reached out initially and then we send a secondary contract to their partner. Once each of you have signed and we receive the retainer payment, Will counter-signs each contract and we get copies back to you.
Payments can be made in the same portal where you receive your contract. Alternatively we do accept venmo, or you can mail a check.
The payment schedule varies depending on the package price. The initial retainer payment amount is either half of the package price or $2,000 depending on which is less.
Contract Fine Print
The fine print of our contract is mostly self-explanatory, but there are a few points that we like to go over during our consultations.
Cooperation
Throughout the planning process we will have you work up a specific family photo list, so that we can check everyone off as we go throughout the day - this is the best way to prevent anyone from getting left out. There will be some guests that won’t make the formal photos list, but you’ll want photos with at the reception - be sure to grab them, find us to get that shot. Also, we don’t mind other guests taking photos or video throughout the day, however, we ask that they refrain during formal posed photos, because we want to be sure everyone is looking at the camera that you are paying to have there.
Limit of Liability
We know that every wedding on our calendar is the most important day of that couple’s lives and we treat it as such. That being said we are not impervious to sickness or other personal issues. Should the need arrise for us to have to cancel, we would let you know as soon as possible, refund everything you have paid us for your wedding coverage, and do our absolute best to find you a replacement. This clause protects us from a lawsuit where we are liable for anything beyond what you have paid us for photographing your wedding because of something we couldn’t control. Please know, that this is an absolute worst case scenario clause - we have worked weddings with food poisoning, walking pneumonia (not contagious), and even had a car accident the morning of a wedding - we don’t take our responsibilities lightly.
Final Product
All photos and films will be returned in a private online gallery. You will immediately be able to download all of your photos and films. Your photos can be downloaded in their full resolution for the best quality prints or in a web-optimized version which are more ideal for sharing via social media since they are a smaller file size. Your Wedding Film will download at 4k Ultra HD resolution. If your package includes the video extras, you will find these films at the end of your gallery. They will be in the same resolution as the wedding film and have the same download permissions.
The gallery will officially remain online for one year after receiving the link, so be sure to download and archive all of your photos and films yourself. We do offer a comprehensive USB in the print store if you’d like to add that on after receiving everything.
Editing/Original Footage (Wedding Film)
Your wedding film is a different animal than your photo gallery. As we build photo galleries we are working on a collection of art, while your wedding film is one piece. We spend days on end building your wedding film which makes edit requests much harder to accomodate than photo edit requests, but it doesn’t hurt to ask - because we will try what we can. As for the original footage, our goal is to film for the wedding film and if you have the extras included, you will get everything back that is worth viewing. The contract says that 90 days after returning your wedding film, we may delete your footage. We won’t actively delete anything, but after 90 days we will be less precious with backing everything up and can’t guarantee that we will be able to fulfill any edit requests.
Music (Wedding Film)
Unfortunately, unlike your DJ, we can’t take requests. The artists that create the music which sets the mood of your film deserve compensation. Some artists require a lot more compensation than others - which knocks out pretty much all radio hits from being affordable to use. We like it this way. We don’t want the raw emotion and realness of your day to be overshadowed by a trendy pop song. We pride ourselves in being able to select the perfect backing tracks for a couple’s style. If you’d like, we can link you to the database that we use to select music, however most people that check it out end up overwhelmed and leave this decision up to our expertise.
