Ya’ll, Will and I have shot almost 400 weddings (we’ll hit that milestone in December), so in lots of ways we feel like we have seen it all. At times we feel like we are just going through the motions. Getting ready, ceremony, portraits, introductions, dances, speeches, cake. Go home and edit. Repeat. I mean that in the best way possible. There’s something comforting about the predictability of a wedding day. But, I have lost a bit of the emotion I used to feel when attending weddings. Ya’ll, Friday changed that for me. Josh and Mitchell have forever changed me. On paper, there was nothing out of the ordinary about their big day. Getting ready, portraits, ceremony, introductions, dances, dinner, speeches, cake… The difference? Ya’ll, buckle up. I’m not sure I can adequately describe the beauty that Will and I experienced on Friday. To be honest, these photos don’t hold a light to the video that Will is in our office putting together. My description will never let you hear the love in Josh and Mitchell’s voices as they vowed their lives to each other. As they recapped growing up and never believing they would find the love that they found in each other. As they shared the things they love the most about each other and their sweet fur babies, Olive and Percy. My description will never let you hear how the evening’s speeches shared with everyone in attendance how beautifully Josh and Mitchell’s friends love on them. I thought I couldn’t cry anymore after hearing their vows, but lo and behold, I found myself sobbing like a baby as we listened to friend after friend describe how lovely Josh and Mitchell both are, how genuinely they show their love for those around them, how motivated they are in giving their all to everything they do, and how they bring love, laughter, and joy into every situation they encounter. Ya’ll, it’s so clear that the world is a better place with Josh and Mitchell in it. My world certainly is better now.
